We must fight the watchdogs

Why does our parliament not react on the fact that the US is watching us, day and night? Why does the Dutch nation agree with the fact that social media ‘logically’ lead to spying? Why do we give up our privacy in the name of the global fight against terrorism, knowing that this is nonsense? What the hell does democracy mean if we let all this happen? The answer is: total passive materialism. We receive the watchdogs we deserve, ‘they’ say. Well, I disagree. We have to fight the watchdogs we do not want. I, for one, want my right on my secret garden, my inner circle and my own secret thoughts. I want to be able to publish them without fear of being followed or judged. Otherwise I might as well go and live in China.
